Belstaff

(First three paragraphs)

Belstaff is probably Britain's longest established supplier of quality clothing and accessories made especially for the motorcyclist. The result of all our experience and expertise is the biggest, brightest, smartest range of biker wear you can find anywhere.

Founded by Eli Belovitch in 1924 Belstaff has become one of the most famous motorcycle clothing brands. Even in 1924 the first garments produced, designed to combat British weather, we were without equal. Capes, leggings, haversacks, rucksacks and quality waterproofs for men and women were all made at their factory at Victoria Place, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. By 1930, the business grew to become a limited company and the Belstaff Manufacturing Company Limited was born, the mane coming from Eli's surname and part from the county in which he began, Staffordshire.

During the second world war the reputation of Belstaff's design and quality ensured maximum production was maintained for the Services in all areas of military textiles, specialising in waterproof protection for submariners and aircraft carriers creating a technical base that still exists today.
